Norman Pearson

On Monday 28th November, Jean & I were able to give Club Member Norman Pearson a good sendoff by taking him on his final journey by DG6. We have known Norman & his wife Joan for some 20 years. He is a modelengineer of renown & had built & ran a beautiful 2" scale DG6. He is theonly enthusiast I have met who used to 'spot' Sentinels. Amongst hiscollection he had photos of Sentinels in service, mainly S4's, at variouswater stops especially around his home town of East Grinstead. He has shownme some of these watering points, which I still use. When I broke down a few years ago on the A22 near Forest Row with a loosewheel, he thought nothing of dropping everything & coming out with acomplete tool kit & spares to help & to see us on our way. The funeral service was in St Swithun's Church, East Grinstead & the burialwas in the town's Mount Noddy Cemetery. We & his family & friends will miss him.

His last words to me in a letter were, “Well I think I’ve said enough for now so will let steam down and close the damper”
